The 2017 Ride: 6-9 July
We are back to the roots: Prague (Czech Republic) to Berlin (Germany). In old TechBikers tradition the ride will take the participants on a 380 km trip from south to north. But the journey will already start a day before the actual ride: on Thursday, 6th of July, the participants will be shuttled from Berlin to Prague. All luggage and bikes will be on board and we will have a great get together in Prague at the opening venue banquet. An overnight stay at a special hotel will round off the transition day.
The first leg will go from Prague directly north passing the boarder to Germany at Hrensko. The first small challenge will be entering the Sächsische Schweiz. the little climbs will not keep us from terminating the first stage after 135 km in Bad Schandau at the river Elbe.
After dinner, sleep and breakfast the second leg will leave the Sächsische Schweiz still heading north. The region we will be passing is the Oberlausitz with tis numerous lakes. We will have great rest places and a fantastic scenery making the 125km distance to the day so much easier to achieve. Just west of Cottbus the leg will end in the village of Lübbenau in the centre of the Spreewald.
On the final day the tour will be leaving the Spreewald in direction north - west and enter Berlin via Schoenefeld (120km). Riding through the Streganzsee-Dahme region with its forests and lakes, will give the participants a great ride on small and sheltered roads. The ride will the end with its final under the Brandenburger Tor in the centre of Berlin. The final party and fare well will be at the Axel Springer Loft close to the Brandenburger Tor.
The TechBikers ride is, once again, supported by professional bike guides. Not only will they take care of your safety, they will also be responsible to help with any problems you might have with your bike. And most important: they will make sure that every rider reaches the final destination with a lot of fun, in great shape and stress free manner– never mind how fit you are or how experienced you are in road cycling. Do not forget: TechBikers is not a race, it is an event to have fun and support a good cause.
